Just a short drive from our office, Sarasota’s UTC District (at I-75 & University Parkway) is a go-to spot for many of our out-of-town patients and their families. With 80+ dining choices and 250+ specialty shops and boutiques, it’s easy to grab a quick breakfast before your appointment, pick up a few essentials, or unwind over a relaxed dinner after a long day. Parking is plentiful, everything’s easy to navigate, and the variety means there’s truly something for every taste, schedule, and comfort level during your stay.
The Ringling Museum is found on a 66-acre estate owned by John and Mable Ringling. The museum houses fascinating exhibitions from around the world, as well as classical sculptures, many of which are scattered throughout its beautiful courtyard. Visitors can also explore the Ringling Circus Museum, Ca’ d’Zan (the Ringling family home), the Bayfront Gardens, and the historic Asolo Theater.
While in Sarasota, make sure you visit some of our beautiful beaches, including the stunning Siesta Key and Lido Key. Take a dip in the warm waters or just relax on the white sand.

Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is just 20 minutes away. Tampa International Airport (TPA), located about 1 hour away, may offer more direct flight options.
Do I need to rent a car?
Most patients do not rent a car unless they plan to explore the area. Uber and Lyft are widely available in Sarasota.
Are there recommended hotels nearby?

How far in advance should I arrive before surgery?
If you’re flying in, we recommend arriving at least one day before your procedure to allow time to settle in and attend your pre-op appointment.
How long should I plan to stay after surgery?
This depends on your procedure, but most patients remain in the area for 1–2 days post-op to allow for follow-up care and safe travel recovery.
Do I need someone to stay with me after surgery?
Yes. For your safety, someone must stay with you for at least the first 24 hours after surgery. If you’re traveling alone, we can help coordinate care with one of our trusted concierge recovery partners. Special rates are available for Florida Plastic Surgery patients.
What should I do to prepare for recovery?
Once your surgery is scheduled, we’ll arrange a virtual pre-op appointment with a surgical team member. We’ll review your personalized recovery instructions, what to pack, how to set up your recovery space, and any activity restrictions.
Can I do my post-op appointments virtually?
Many procedures qualify for virtual follow-up appointments. This will be discussed during your consultation, but feel free to reach out to our surgery team beforehand to learn more.
How do I book surgery if I’m not local?
After your consultation, our team will guide you through securing a surgical date, submitting your deposit, and coordinating your pre- and post-operative care—all remotely.
