Spring Radiance, Not Redness

April is Rosacea Awareness Month, making it an ideal time to shine a light on this chronic skin issue affecting one in every ten individuals. With over 14 million people struggling with this condition, managing the persistent redness and inflammation can be quite challenging. Rosacea commonly appears on the forehead, cheeks, nose, and occasionally around the mouth or eyes, characterized by redness, visible blood vessels, bumps, and breakouts. The severity of rosacea varies widely, with some experiencing mild flushing while others struggle with more pronounced symptoms, such as acne, inflammation, and chronic redness. For some individuals with severe rosacea, prescription topical antibiotics, Retin-A, or Accutane are needed to help relieve their symptoms. Rosacea is also influenced by genetics, with main triggers including heat, spicy foods, alcohol, chocolate, dairy, and sugar.

At Florida Plastic Surgery and Medspa, all our facials are personalized to suit each patient’s unique skin type, ensuring they are suitable for individuals dealing with skin concerns such as rosacea!
